City Impact has been passionate about helping children in poverty since 1984. We are unswerving in our commitment to conduct this ministry in a manner that glorifies God. We make the following commitments to you, our valued child sponsor.

Every child who participates in a City Impact program is given the opportunity to learn about Jesus and discover how to develop a lifelong relationship with God.

We commit to use money only for the purpose for which it was raised. The concept of child sponsorship implies that the funds will be used to develop the children who are sponsored.

We commit to being financially accountable. We take our role as stewards of resources seriously. We regularly perform audits to ensure that programs are well-managed and funds are properly disbursed and applied. We are also audited annually by an independent certified public accounting firm.

We commit to give every child in our program a chance to respond to the gospel. Poverty sends a defeating, painful message into the heart of a child — a message that says, “I don’t matter.” Introducing children to their loving, heavenly Father is the most powerful way of reversing this message.

You will receive a welcome kit with the student you are sponsoring. We may also invite you to check out our Sponsorship portal and further connections by serving within our SFCI programs.

Your sponsored child will have the opportunity to receive different services such as:

Educational support through partnership with the San Francisco Unified School District to provide diagnostic testing for students with special needs. We connect these students to specialists who develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and offer on-site, volunteer-led learning opportunities. Additionally, we provide practical workshops for adults that deliver both emotional and tangible support to working families in the community.

Healthcare Services by volunteers and staff such as dental, vision screenings, hygiene kits etc.

Life Skills through empowering children with social interactions, educational camps and community service opportunities.

Provisions such as new clothing, access to organic groceries and experiences through our various outreaches.

While we are immensely grateful for the generosity of sponsors like you, we have made a conscious decision not to accept individual gifts for our sponsored children. Our primary goal is to foster an environment that upholds principles of fairness, equality, and community cohesion.

Accepting gifts for specific children can inadvertently create disparities and feelings of inequality among the community. We believe in providing all our children with an equal opportunity to thrive, and the acceptance of individual gifts can introduce a dynamic that may lead to favoritism or unintentional divisions.

By maintaining a policy of not accepting gifts, we aim to uphold the values of a level playing field, where each child’s success is based on their individual efforts and merits. This approach aligns with our commitment to integrity, community building, and the belief that success should be earned through personal dedication.
